Xavier’s College of Arts and Sciences
consists of six academic divisions each with a distinct identity, that promotes the cross-disciplinary study of the arts and sciences. Each division comprises twenty-one departments offering more than forty majors, and offers a wide range of undergraduate programs across multiple disciplines, including:

The Division of Fine Arts and Humanities brings together Theology, History, English, Languages, Art, Music, and Philosophy. It prepares leaders skilled in communication and arts appreciation with diverse cultural knowledge and African-American heritage understanding. The division promotes a just and humane society.

Mathematics & Physical Sciences
The Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MAPS) offers programs in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, and Engineering. It provides professional training, research opportunities, and pathways to scientific and health careers. As the largest division at Xavier, MAPS promotes student success across the physical sciences.
Social & Behavioral Sciences
The Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences joins Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Mass Communication, and Communication Studies. It provides an innovative center to study human social behavior and interactions using distinct methods and theories. Students enjoy working with people, data, and ideas while learning beyond books and classrooms.
