Six STEM students received awards for their poster and oral presentation at the 2018 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students in Indianapolis, IN including:听Building Infrastructure Leading to Diversity听(BUILD)听scholars听Blaine Deribgny, a junior chemistry major;听Lauren Thornton, a senior biology major;听Chandler Golden, a senior psychology major; and听听Ashley Mello听a junior biology major; Maximizing Access to Research Careers听(MARC)听scholar听Dailia听El-Desoky, a senior physiology major听听and Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement听(RISE)听scholar,听Camilla Do,a senior chemistry major.听
The four-day conference included: over 2,000 poster and oral presentations given by undergraduate and post baccalaureate student, scientific and professional development sessions, over 380 exhibit booths, networking opportunities, plenary speakers, conference programming tracks for undergraduates, graduates & postdoctoral scientists, and non-students and an awards banquet.听
