The Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine (XOCOM) hosted a special day party event during the ESSENCE Festival weekend in New Orleans. This exciting gathering featured a panel discussion titled “Why Diversity in Medicine Matters: The Impact of the Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine on the Health of Our Communities and How to Become a Physician.” Moderated by award-winning podcast host Angela Rye and renowned local media expert and Xavier alumna Dr. Courtney Washington (‘09), the discussion was both enlightening and empowering.
