Cardboard Baling Program

The Office of Sustainability developed a cardboard baler program starting in Fall 2021. The program collects cardboard from across campus, which will be compressed with our new, state of the art, cardboard baler, another purchase from the Keep Louisiana Beautiful

Foundation grant. The baler can quickly condense and bind large amounts of cardboard into easily transportable blocks of about 120-130 pounds, which are then picked up to be turned into something new. Cardboard is one of the most profitable materials to process at a Materials Recovery Facility, and thus, these programs are lucrative to the continued success of recycling programs. We welcome your cardboard drop-offs to the loading dock area of Building Services Office on 1041 South Norman C Francis Pkwy.
